Anax_Pendant Luminaire

red dot award : product design 2008

The Anax pendant luminaire is named after the emperor dragonfly. Like the insect it seems to hover majestically in space without weight. This pendant illuminates objects and therefore becomes an interesting architectural element. Thanks to the LED technology the shape of the luminaire has been kept slim. By means of 18 warm white light emitting diodes Anax generates a soft light cone, which creates atmospheric lighting above a table or showcase. As LEDs are more durable and energy-saving than incandescent light bulbs their service performance is higher, and replacing the illuminant becomes unnecessary. The corpus of the luminaire is made of extruded aluminium and allows individual colourising.
